I've been up for well over an hour now, but I can't really complain. The thing that woke me up was the tiny thump-thump-thump's of my baby kicking. Some of the very first ones, and they seem to be getting stronger every day... I'd forgotten how much I missed those! I was getting impatient and beginning to think they were never going to happen.

Speaking of mommy-hood, I have another new article up over at Tampa Bay DotMoms. Right now a year ago, I was in the midst of early labor with our son. As long as his pregnancy seemed to last, it just doesn't seem possible that it's been almost a year now since he joined our family!

This week the sweetest sound my ears have ever heard has filled our home. The wee one is learning spontaneous laughter, brought on by things that amuse him rather than being teased or tickled by us first. Mostly this one is responsible for all of the giggle fits, but a few random toys have become the usual suspects as well.

I'm tired, swollen, my back hurts, I have heartburn, and at almost week 19 ... still ... morning sickness from hell. But ironically, I've never been happier in my entire life!
