The verdict is in...and...

[boybee]
[happy happy joy joy]

You guys were waaay off — you're now officially 0-2 in our baby gender polls (first son, second son). "Bebe" was most definitely all boy, as he was all too happy to flaunt on the ultrasound earlier this morning... We won't be publicly announcing the name (yes, we have selected it) until early next week though. You can e-mail me if you're dying to know, but it's a surprise until we announce it to our families in person this week when we return to Oklahoma for number-one-son's first birthday.

Needless to say, we're both bouncing-off-the-walls excited! We absolutely adore having a son, and can't wait to have another! First and foremost, we wanted the baby to be healthy — and everything looked perfect on the ultrasound. But secretly, I think we were both hoping the scales would tip in blue's favor once again... And it did. Oh my, did it ever! The due date has been moved up a couple of days to June 24, 2005.

We are becoming concerned about just how much South Park and Beavis and Butt-head have effected our ability to parent, however. Yesterday when Todd was reading "The Runaway Bunny", we both cracked up when he got to this line:

"If you become the wind and blow me..."

Then last night the wee one started playing with his new "Guess What? Elmo" doll. This interactive toy comes equipped with over 200 phrases, and each day of the week an internal clock changes the subject and talks about a different topic. Apparently the topic for Sunday is...balls. Elmo was belting out questions and phrases such as:

"Do balls have frosting?"

And:

"Elmo loves balls."

Yes, we have decided that toy is most definitely off-limits on Sundays. There is no way we can keep a straight face during Elmo's balls Q&A — and pretty soon Lucy, we'd have some 'splainin' to do. It's already hard enough not to fall off the couch in fits of laughter when another toy of his coos "Baby's sooooo big!"

We need help. But I swear toy manufacturers do this on purpose!
