Long time, no update... It's funny how the longer you spend away from the computer, the more you start to wonder what ever made you sit in front of it so much in the first place. Todd had a long weekend with the MLK Jr. holiday, and we've honestly just had a lot of fun being offline and being a "family".
Our son is growing and learning so much right now, that if we didn't document every single second on photo and video I don't think anyone would believe us. In the last week he's started pointing out objects on command in one of his favorite "Bear in the Big Blue House" alphabet books. I can say, "Show mommy where Luna is...," and he'll do it. On every single page of the book. Even when there are several objects on the page, he can point to the one he's asked to show me... He can do the same with his wooden zoo animal puzzle pieces. Keep in mind the child is only eleven months old. He's also started "reading" his books to himself aloud, gliding his pointing finger across the words as he "says" them. Now granted, his "reading" is still entirely in baby-babble. But he's already picked up the fact that when I point to words I'm reading them to him aloud and they obviously have meaning because he's doing it by himself on his own now. And he's obviously been absorbing word-meanings like a little sponge. I know every parent thinks their child is a genius, but just try to convince me that mine isn't!
We also got a date for our next ultrasound, and it's January 31st. Bebe-willing, and tiny legs uncrossed, we'll find out the sex of our second-born then. Our son was more than cooperative in this department but I hear the second child is always supposed to be more difficult. So now's your chance vote on what you think we're having:
The majority of people got it wrong the last time around, so we'll see how well you do with this one!
UPDATE: Here are recent profile shots of how I'm carrying if you need them...
