An exit to eternal summer slacking

We bought our oldest son a cheap blow-up pool on clearance from Tarjhét and yesterday was his first chance to try it out. Eventually both boys got in on the act. In the end, we're not sure who had more fun though — the kids, or mom and dad.

Currently reading: "The Three-Martini Playdate: A Practical Guide to Happy Parenting"

Just when Todd had returned to work again after battling pneumonia, and things had settled somewhat into a 'routine' again...my PC decided to blow up during one of those rare moments of free time (what's that?) every new mommy tries to sneak every now and again. I'd sent an e-mail, got the confirmation screen, and then "poof!" The entire system powered off without warning or even the courtesy of a 'blue screen of death'. When I tried to reboot it went into an eterna-loop of starting up and shutting off and the BIOS wouldn't even come up. It's pretty much toast according to my personal, live-in tech support. And we can't really work a new system into the budget for me 'til closer to the end of the month...so...I'm a tech-nomad until then. As if my e-mails weren't stacked up enough on their own without the stupid computer's help!

To make matters worse, my copy of Photoshop CS was Windows based and Todd is on a Mac. He downloaded me a trial-copy to his machine today so I wouldn't completely lose my mind and go into withdrawal.

The baby turned 8 weeks old this past week and I've yet to send a single order of photos off to Ofoto. This is bad considering the first son had already filled a 150-slot photo album by this stage of his life. I feel like I'm never going to catch up. Thankfully dad came to the rescue once again last night and burned everything to date on DVD. So at least they're safe and secure now and when the child goes off to college, I can have his coming home photos printed off once and for all.

Oh well, at least I'm up to date on his baby book right now. I've heard horror story after horror story of how the second child's always remains blank...

A couple of fun photo/video-related links from the husband before I go:

Repeat announcement:
To close, just a quick PSA and apology. It's only taken me two three days to get this entry together...and you should see my inbox right now (currently with 198 238 messages)... By all means, fire away with the e-mails as I love reading them and getting the 'adult conversation' when time permits. Just please allow for turn-around time. Lots and lots of turn-around time. I have good intentions on writing back I swear (and I'm sorry if you're still waiting to hear back from me), but unless you are the owner of one of these sets of cute little baby toes (or are the male owner of this fine derrière), unfortunately you don't get first-come, first-serve priority for the next few weeks. Please continue to hold...
