Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' into the future

[our whole world in his hands]

The above photo was taken on June 26, 2005, when our second son was 10 days old. It can also be seen in a larger size at Flickr. It's not hard to tell looking through my own photos (and my favorite photos) that I have a slight baby feet obsession.

Tomorrow our second son turns 2 weeks old. Sunday our first son turns 17 months old. I don't think I'll ever be fully prepared for how fast the time flies by once you have kids, no matter how old they get. And with the second child it seems to go even faster...

We had our second son's 2-week check-up (a day early) this morning. He's up from a birth weight of 8 lbs., 0 oz. (and a 1-week check-up weight of 7 lbs., 13 oz.) to a whopping 8 lbs., 14 oz.! Looks like we have another l'il piggie on our hands. The pediatrician laughed and said my milk must be like Häagen-Dazs to him. That was music to my ears given the troubles I had early on the last time around. All hail the Pump In Style! I'm not sure how I ever had an infant without it.

The last of our baby-help flies home tomorrow. I'll have a full 1-day trial run all by myself with the two little munchkins, and then daddy will be home for the long holiday weekend. After that it's back to life, back to reality. I may never be online again!

And on behalf of new parents everywhere, I just can't say thank you enough to ABC's "World News Now". It was our overnight salvation with the first son, and we're once again realizing why we were so addicted to its "Not Necessarily the News" style of broadcasting last year. Nothing says mindless breastfeeding entertainment than a live count of the double-decker buses that go by the newsroom picture window during the London report! And I've developed a slight late night crush on the new anchor Ron Corning. (Much better photo on his official website here.) Fortunately for me, Todd is ok with my latest obsession. He's got that Noggin chick Laurie Berkner on TiVo to keep him happy...

Let's eat some spaghetti with Freddie!
