Haul out the holly

[Main Street USA]

The above photo was taken in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World on Saturday, November 26, 2005.

Had a great Thanksgiving holiday and birthday weekend...although it went by much too quickly! There are tons of new photos and Disney pics at my Flickr account if you are so inclined. (UPDATE: Food TV has a new "Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort" show. Air times here.)

I've decided while looking around Flickr lately that it's almost like apartment / house hunting... You walk in for the tour and see the nice designer furniture and think, "If I live here, it will look perfect just like this." But you move in and unload your own things off the U-Haul. And it's not even close. Even if you own the same fridge and end tables that the model had inside, something is still amiss. Your lighting isn't as perfect and your walls aren't nearly as bright. And then it hits you — not everyone can be Angela, Sesame and Dawn — well, because they are Angela, Sesame and Dawn. Durh...stupid delusions!

I'm finally experiencing my first iPod / iTrip duels after reading about them elsewhere for months. Two weekends in a row, in fact. I'm proud to say that Elvis Costello's "Pump It Up" totally kicked some crappy opera vocal piece's . You should have seen the couple in the car scrambling around and holding their iPod in the air frantically while trying to get a better signal. Through a very long red light. Hi-lar-i-ous! And this weekend Material Issue reigned supreme over AC/DC. In celebration of my 2-0 record, I've included both songs below (so I can taunt them a second time).
