The above candid photo of our two boys was taken on Saturday, October 22, 2005, at our local punkin'patch. (It's now an annual family tradition.) Even at 20-months old, big brother still knows the importance of being ready for the 'big shot' and stopped mid-run to give little brother a few pointers and adjustments. What started off as yet another week where Floridians ask ourselves "why do we do this each year" has ended up in a week where we get weather-amnesia and mumble "ohhhhh...yeahhhhh...gimme more of the good stuff baby". Post-Wilma our temps dropped from highs in the upper-80s to near-90s — to the upper-60s and low-70s the very next day. We had to turn on the heat last night. The heat! Granted our now-thinned out blood required thermal-care for lows in the upper-40s (whereas that would have been shorts-weather for us back in college). But still! It's been a blast enjoying the great outdoors with the boys the last couple of days minus the risk of heat stroke. Of course this is easy for me to say since I'm not the one facing 2-4 weeks of power outages...

This morning Todd passed along an article from CNN that has left me nearly broken-hearted. It seems my lifelong love, Weezer front man Rivers Cuomo, is in the midst of a two-year vow of celibacy "which he began June 13, 2003". Now I should point out this is literally the day after we announced our pregnancy with our firstborn to close friends and family. Coincidence? I think not. I know it must have been hard on him that I finally moved on, but I do think these lengths are a bit extreme... Poor guy!

While going through my stats earlier tonight, I ran across this link I'd somehow missed before titled "Tampatantrum in a bottle". Glory days. Well, they'll pass you by... Very nice tribute though. I'm extremely flattered — thanks!

And to close since I should be in bed resting for all the cleaning ahead tomorrow with the mother-in-law's arrival on Friday.....Sporty's back and you're gonna be in trouble.
