Flower power

[hibiscus close-up]

The above hibiscus photo was taken with a Canon PowerShot G3 on January 15, 2003.

You'd think that I would have been blogging on the Internet long enough now that not much surprises me anymore... But finding out this has happened yet again was a quick reality-jolt earlier this afternoon. I'm always careful to keep photos of my first son's face behind passworded sites and blocked from search engines* — as well as keeping both of their names from being indexed as best I can (using a combo of image-text, encryption and the like) — but the fact there are freaks out there who also want photos of your pregnant belly to pass off as their own for "their own pregnancy journals" is just almost more than I can comprehend. But nonetheless, I went through and watermarked mine today just the same. I earned this belly myself. It's not available just for the taking.

We had our son's combo 1-year / Easter portraits taken over the weekend. If you'd like to see them, please follow the instructions and fill out this form. I'd like nothing more than to act like the proud parent I am and paste his adorable smiling mug all over this site as other gloating mommies do, so you'd know for a fact he's just as cute as I say he is. But unfortunately in today's world, that just isn't going to happen. Ever. C'est la vie.

Back to the topic at hand though...my mind is still having trouble wrapping around the concept that in just one short year my son has went from my little baby boy to my little man... It goes by much too quickly. Someone invent that life still-pause button already!
