Hurrah for the pumpkin pie

[Happy Turkey Day]

Those of you living in Florida and parts of the South will instantly recognize the salt and pepper shakers above. They are from one of my very favorite holiday commercials ever. A new one was released this year with the kids, but I still have to stick with the original old school mom 'n' pop at the top of my list.

However, no holiday commercial will ever hold a candle to the best one of all time. You can't call yourself a true Oklahoman if you don't know all the words by heart...

Just a wish from sunny Florida for the very happiest of Thanksgivings!

This is the first Thanksgiving we'll spend with just our immediate family in quite a few years. Which in a way seems quite fitting considering our immediate family has grown this year in ways we never imagined what seems just a short time ago... We have so much to be thankful for together — both old and new.

Sharing a first holiday season with a baby has to be one of the most incredible things I've ever experienced. From watching his eyes light up when he discovers all the lights, to the squeals and bouncing when jingle bells sound, the holidays have barely begun and already are more than I could have ever hoped or dreamed for... Seeing things through the eyes of a child once more is a blessing I can never tell God "thank you" for enough. And that He continues to bless our home daily is just all that much more incredible.

Tomorrow we'll be serving the traditional Thanksgiving dinner (one third of it puréed...mmmm...mmmm...good). And the prayer we say before it will be the most thankful one we've ever shared. Wishing you the same wonderful blessings and more — from our home to yours.
