I shot the above photo Thursday night at a newborn photo session. That baby boy reminded me so much of my oldest as a newborn, it was like stepping into a time-warp.
I have now officially crossed the threshold from young adult to 30-something. And it's not just because I have to start checking the "35-40" box on marketing forms in four more months.
It is Saturday night after midnight. I am drinking a non-alcoholic beverage - and working. And I just came back inside after flying out the front door of our corporate apartment complex to shout down a gang of wannabe Turtle clones for playing their car-bass so loud pool-side, if I were in fact drinking this evening, having my martini shaken and not stirred would not be a problem...
I got their attention and let them know that unless they were interested in spending the rest of the night babysitting my two toddlers, I would suggest they turn that blasted music down stat and take the party elsewhere because my husband was on the phone with the cops.
Something tells me someone I lived next to in my 20s is laughing very loudly somewhere out there...
Pass the Geritol.
