I'd really hoped to have a lot of material to blog about with the Torino games, but unfortunately that just hasn't come to pass. I'm sure a lot of it is due to the fact that with NBC's Olympic coverage (or rather lack thereof), we're only allowed to see what they want us to see - when they want us to see it - during these Olympic games. But until their "exclusive" five-ringed contract expires sometime around 2166, unfortunately I don't envision things changing much either. I mean, a 5-hour break in coverage on Sunday for the Daytona 500? You're kidding me, right? Yeah yeah, I know it was the highest rated NASCAR event in, oh say, history. But spare me if you're using that stat to try and impress. Me? I'd rather watch curling.

Other than Bode putting in performances thus far that have been flatter than Kramer's hair after using a low-flow shower-head, there just hasn't been all that much to blog home about. The "top three" moments don't even warrant their own paragraphs. Lindsay Jacobellis chose to make snow angels rather than Olympic history. The Italian ice dancers had a rather public, junior-highesque break-up and make-up on ice (when they should have been pitied more for their fashion choices instead). And the top U.S. men's speed skaters acted more like Joan Collins vs. Linda Evans off the podium than the reigning 1500-meter silver and bronze medalists.

Boooooooring. Thank goodness I'll have the memories of Al Roker and Matt Lauer doing the two-man luge to keep me warm at night.

In other entertainment news, things are back in full-swing over at Idol Tongues. Yours-truly will be blogging there once more as time and offspring allow, so check it out Dawg.

Now to close on something a bit more serious... Erika and Jay are about to finally welcome their little monkey into the world this week. It promises to be one of the happiest and most challenging weeks of their lives, so please keep them in your thoughts! Best wishes to the three of them and their families!
