The above photo was taken with my new toy this afternoon at the Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park in Tampa Bay.
"Today I found a park and played. Fun! I brought Daddy and Mommy and we played in the park. And we slided on the slide! And then I swinged! And then I walked around! I just figured out how to do that real good. It's fun! Fun!
And then Mommy took my picture. And then Daddy held my hand we went on a nature walk. It was sunny. We saw lots of kids. And we saw lots of mommies and daddies. And then we walked in the trees and I helped Daddy climb a tree and then I saw a bush. It was my bush and so I took it and Daddy helpeded. Mommy took more pictures.
I found my tree and then I played with my tree and stuff. It was the bestest day ever with my Mommy and Daddy. And then I fell asleep!
The end."
Today was our fun day. Our 'I don't have to run day'. A perfect bright, Florida sunshiny afternoon that almost makes you forget this is looming just around the corner...
We ventured out with the wee one to tour Starkey Wilderness Park for the first time. "Bounded by the Anclote and Pithlachascottee rivers, the park -a nature lover’s paradise- features acres of undisturbed wetlands, natural hammock preserves, a 1.3-mile self-guided nature trail, 8 miles of horse trails, hiking trails and a 3-mile bike path." How we've missed this place before now, I'll never know. But we don't intend on continuing the mistake!
And now tomorrow is almost on tap...just another manic Monday... Sigh.
