The above photo was taken last month at a local park. Desperately trying to catch up on the earlier processing right now before I head back to work when the next baby is born...
It's hard to blog these days. Not just because I don't have time, but when I do "cheat the clock" there's a lot of guilt that I'd be wasting minutes writing on here when I could be doing ________ instead.
Right now I'm actually trapped in my office while the cleaning service works around me (the nanny is outside with the boys), so I have a good excuse I guess. Yep, I finally caved and hired a part-time nanny service for the summer as well. In case you missed that fun-tidbit in mid-June, I was hospitalized for a couple of days. Originally they suspected it was cardiac-related after a couple of inconclusive EKGs. But once I had been sufficiently poked and prodded and tested to their satisfaction (including 3 lovely shots right in the stomach), I was sent home with the probable diagnosis "severe rib injury" since confirmed by my primary care.
The good news is the drugs are decent. The bad news is...have you ever tried to do a photo session or wrangle a 3-year old and a 4-year old with a rib injury? Needless to say there's been just as many setback days as recovery days and I had to suck in my pride, learn when to say "when", and admit for a change that I couldn't do everything. Letting go has been easy. And it's been hard. Ask me again tomorrow.
Somehow along the way I also managed to get a new camera and have my work stolen yet again not once, but twice, in the span of two days last week.
Oh yeah, and I got published on a famous baby-related website.
Yes, I'd say this summer is shaping up to be noted as downright swell in the ol' record books.
And with that, my time in exile is about to come to an end...
