The above macro photo is of a giant, frozen Hershey's Symphony chocolate bar - smashed with a hammer. In case of emergency, break wrapper!
We'd like to publicly send out a huge note of thanks to everyone who has written and commented regarding our our cocker spaniel Claire. I wish we had better news to report, but unfortunately it seems she has just vanished into thin air. We haven't seen or heard anything since the day she ran off. All of our search attempts have been in vain.
I'm sorry I haven't updated the site since last week, but honestly we've tried our best not to focus on it as much as we can. I think we'd lose our minds if we really let the reality of it hit us full-force right now. We've done our best to keep busy with the boys (which isn't a hard thing to do if you've ever raised two, 2 and under) and keep our minds off of what happened.
Behind our backyard fence, beyond about 20-feet of nature preserve, is a golf / retirement community. We choose to believe - for our own sanity - that some sweet older couple in need of good company took her in, and hasn't seen or heard our efforts to find her. And they can give her the time and attention we weren't always able to provide when the boys had to come first. We hope she'll remember how much we loved her, and how very blessed we were to call her our "child" for the almost-10 years she was in our lives.
So once again, thank you for the notes of support and the suggestions on things to try. Just as soon as I can, I hope to reply to each of them individually.
I wish I had better news. But I just have...nothing.
